Bayer launched its seeds business in the UK in 2013, with the aim of providing strong autumn and spring vigour with improved disease resistance without compromising on yield, and next year will see two new varieties emerge from what has since been a continuous process of innovation and advancement.
The first of these varieties, InVigor 1010 (InV1010), is already registered in France and Belgium, and brings strong Phoma and light leaf spot resistance, combined with good lodging resistance (8).
InVigor 1035 (InV1035), meanwhile, has one of the best disease resistance packages available, with very high LLS (7) and Phoma resistance (8) as well as excellent lodging and stem stiffness scores. It also rates highly when it comes to agronomic merit, and possesses outstanding autumn vigour.
Sarah Middleton, Bayer’s Seeds Product Manager, commented:
“Since we launched the seed business in the UK, each year has brought at least one new addition to our InVigor hybrid OSR portfolio, and next year will be no different. We have global expertise in this area, with breeding and research centres across the world, and we’re committed to developing improved varieties that meet the needs of UK growers.”
